It's 2008 and The TOURING PLAYERS OF CANADA have a great new line-up for a brand new year! We're all set for another springtime of touring some excellent entertainment for children and we hope you'll come see us. This year we've got some brand new productions and some classic, tried and true shows that are certain to delight our young audiences. Make sure you check this site and call us for all the details, because you won't want to miss bringing your kids to see our fantastic new season. Plan ahead and make a date in 2008!
We're starting the season off with our Ontario and the East Tour, which is presenting an all new production of JILLIAN JIGGS AND THE PIRATES! This exciting tale of swash-buckling and "yo ho ho-ing", finds Jillian Jiggs and her friends sailing the seven seas in search of adventure.The stories in the show are based on the wonderful Phoebe Gilman books GRANDMA AND THE PIRATES, PRECIOUS PEARL, and of course, JILLIAN JIGGS. You will not want to miss this wonderful new production, so be sure to bring all your grades JK to 3.

Next up is our Western Tour which will be heading out on the road with an all new version of Dennis Lee's, world famous, ALLIGATOR PIE! This fast-paced romp will bring to life the poems of one of Canada's best known and loved poets for children. Join us on a mad-cap adventure as we chant the children's anthem "Alligator Pie, Alligator Pie
If I don't get some I think I'm gonna die!" Make a date in 2008 for this wonderful production for grades JK to 3.

Something new for grades 4 to 6!
Lastly, in Ontario, the TOURING PLAYERS have a fantastic new production of Dennis Foon's NEW CANADIAN KID in the works for the grade 4 to 6 crowd. This Canadian classic, originally written in 1981, has become a hugely popular play around the world. It's the story of Nick, a young boy from an imaginary country, who moves to Canada with his family. There, he is forced to grapple with his fears of a new culture and language, as well as hostile classmates, who taunt him for being different. Book now for this exceptional new production which will surely sell out quickly.
In the fall of this year , we see that JILLIAN AND THE PIRATES will be travelling West, while a brand new TOURING PLAYERS show will treat Ontario and the East to another in a long line of highly professional and theatrical productions for children. This year, we'll re-visit a classic that has been requested again and again. THE VELVETEEN RABBIT will once again come to life, just in time for Christmas. So be sure to keep an eye on these pages for updates.
